- 501(c)3 corporation
- Member of the Garden Club of New Jersey, Inc. and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
- Founded in 1927 and has been led by 50 Presidents -- 28 women, 22 men
- Currently has about 165 members, about 30% men
- Named Garden Club of the Year in 1993 and 1999 by the Garden Club of New Jersey
- Holds one fund-raiser each year -- the Annual Plant Sale, held the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before Mother’s Day
- Membership fees are used to cover the cost of the monthly newsletter, yearbook, and dues to GCNJ
- Presents five Annual Silver Bowl Awards, four for floral design (Challenge, the Jean Evans Bowl for Artistic Design, Novice, and Open) and one for Horticulture
- Sponsors a Youth Garden Program
- Members include landscape designers, master gardeners, a variety of experts, plus many new homeowners and beginning gardeners
